Eastern Sierras
Once, salmon from the Pacific ocean swam, in their natal streams, as far inland as Idaho and Montana. Once, bears dragged their salmon catch into the forest. Nitrogen 15 (N15) is rare on land, abundant in the ocean. It has been found in tree DNA as far inland as the Rocky Mountains. For this artwork, I combined two drawings… one of a Lahoutan Cutthroat trout and the other of a Bristlecone pine tree, both are eastern sierra residents.

Change is inevitable, life is in constant flux, there is movement with all the dimensions and directions possible. We are all caught in the mix of it all. I made this drawing of a Northern Pike from a catch in Minnesota.
